Sweden secures 2028 Olympic dressage qualification

The Swedish dressage team has secured a qualification spot for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics following the World Championships in Aachen. Despite some tension during the competition, the team's performance ensured their place among the top six nations.

In the team competition, Patrik Kittel and his horse Touchdown experienced a moment of drama when the horse stumbled during the Grand Prix program. However, combined scores from Nilshagen, Kittel, and von Essen were sufficient to clinch the Olympic berth.

In the individual dressage standings, New Zealand, Great Britain, and Germany have taken the lead after the first day of competition. Sweden currently sits in the lower half of the rankings, with Christoffer Forsberg recording the best Swedish individual performance so far.
