Sweden engineer bullied after defending colleagues from harassment

An engineer in Sweden shared her experience of systematic bullying after defending female colleagues against sexual harassment by a male office manager. The manager had reportedly targeted young female employees over several years, including during company trips.

After the engineer intervened to support the victims, she became the target of workplace bullying. She eventually sought assistance from the union Sveriges Ingenjörer, which helped secure a settlement for the company. She noted that while she is now in a healthy work environment, her experience highlights the risks faced by those who stand up against misconduct.
