Sweden expands specialized care and LSS housing projects

New residential care and specialized housing projects have commenced in Sweden.

Rikshem is beginning construction on a care facility in Orminge, Nacka municipality. The five-story building will feature 77 apartments and approximately 5,600 square meters of usable area. Ersta diakoni has signed a 15-year agreement to operate the facility, which is designed for elderly residents requiring 24-hour care. The project is expected to be completed by mid-2028 and will be certified according to Miljöbyggnad Silver standards.

In Strängnäs, Emrahus has broken ground on a new LSS housing project in Härad. Developed in collaboration with Anero and contractor Fransson & Nordh, the facility will provide six specialized apartments for individuals with disabilities. Each 45-square-meter unit will include a private patio, complemented by shared communal spaces. The building is planned to meet Miljöbyggnad Guld certification standards.
