Sweden expects unseasonably warm weather this week

Sweden is expected to experience a period of unseasonably warm weather, described by meteorologists as an early ‘Indian summer’. Temperatures along the West Coast are forecast to reach up to 22 degrees Celsius on Wednesday due to a southern air stream driven by a high-pressure system in the east and a low-pressure system in the west.

While much of northern Sweden has already entered meteorological autumn—defined by a daily mean temperature below 10 degrees for at least five consecutive days—the warmer conditions are expected to persist through Thursday. Some areas, including the East Coast and Gotland, may see temperatures around 20 degrees. Stable and sunny conditions are predicted to continue through the weekend before more unsettled weather and rain arrive from the west early next week.
