Trump considers North Korea diplomacy amid Iran and Syria tensions

Donald Trump is reportedly considering a new diplomatic approach to North Korea, potentially seeking a high-level meeting with Kim Jong Un to address regional security and nuclear concerns.

In the Middle East, Donald Trump stated that no negotiations are currently underway with Iran following the expiration of a memorandum of understanding. While Trump claims the Strait of Hormuz remains open, Iranian chief negotiator Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf maintains that the strait is closed. Additionally, Israel conducted an airstrike against the Abu al-Duhur airfield in Syria, an action interpreted as a warning to the Syrian regime against allowing Turkey to establish airbases in the area.

Meanwhile, Russia and North Korea are strengthening their ties, with Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov stating the two nations will work toward a ‘new and righteous world order.’ This development is viewed as an effort by Vladimir Putin to secure further support from North Korea during the conflict in Ukraine.
