Sweden Election Authority reports errors in up to 500 early votes
The Swedish Election Authority (Valmyndigheten) has reported registration errors affecting up to 500 early votes cast between August 26 and September 3. The authority is currently working with municipalities to identify the full extent of the issue and determine which voters may be affected.
At least 114 municipalities have been confirmed as unaffected by these errors, including Gagnef, Leksand, Rättvik, Vansbro, and Malung-Sälen. However, Falun remains among the municipalities where errors may have occurred. Political parties have convened to discuss the situation, describing the voting chaos as a serious matter. The authority expects to provide further updates and recommendations to voters as the analysis continues.
