Sweden fields record‑size athletics squad for European Championships

Sweden has announced a record‑large athletics team for the upcoming European Championships. The squad lists more than 80 competitors across sprint, hurdles, middle‑ and long‑distance, marathon, jumps, throws and combined events.

Key athletes include pole‑vault star Armand Duplantis, discus champion Daniel Ståhl, triple‑jump and long‑jump specialist Maja Åskag, sprinter Wilma Svensson and 100 m specialist Henrik Larsson. The federation said the team is built to break Sweden's previous medal record at the championships.

The roster features a mix of seasoned Olympians and emerging talents in events ranging from 100 m to the marathon, aiming for Sweden to improve its standing on the European athletics stage.
