Sweden job vacancies decline for second consecutive month
The Swedish labor market has seen a decline in job vacancies for two consecutive months. According to the Jobbindex from JobbSafari, the number of available job advertisements in August was 94,599, representing a 1.49 percent decrease compared to the same period last year.
While certain sectors such as transport, logistics, construction, and the service industry have shown growth, the service sector is experiencing significant declines. Specifically, roles in accounting, administration, and sales/trade have seen heavy losses, with one-sixth of all job advertisements in these categories disappearing over the year.
Anita Rae, labor market manager at JobbSafari, noted that while there are signs of the Swedish economy moving in the right direction, these improvements have not yet translated into a broader demand for labor.
