Sweden joins European academies for quantum and AI skills

Sweden is expanding its involvement in European digital skills development through participation in the European Quantum Skills Academy (EQA) and the Artificial Intelligence Skills Hub Academy (AISHA).

The EQA is a pan-European initiative designed to create a comprehensive ecosystem for quantum education and training. With a budget of €19.8 million over 48 months—half of which is directly funded by the European Union—the project involves 73 partners and over 100 affiliates across 23 countries. Nordita, the Nordic Institute for Theoretical Physics in Stockholm, will support the leadership of the Nordic-Baltic Quantum Academy, one of the EQA’s six regional academies. This involvement, which also includes Stockholm University, aims to align with the EU Quantum Europe Strategy to foster technological sovereignty.

In the field of artificial intelligence, Region Värmland is participating in the AISHA initiative. This program focuses on AI education for sectors such as healthcare and social care, emphasizing democratic principles, responsible technology use, and user participation.
