Sweden launches initiatives to support youth engagement

Various Swedish initiatives are targeting increased engagement and opportunities for youth. In Falun, the Hela Falun project has appointed Anna-Maria Eriksson as its new project manager. The initiative, supported by Falun municipality with 750,000 SEK annually through 2027, aims to provide non-competitive activities and social meeting places for local young people. The project has already facilitated youth-oriented establishments in central Falun, Svärdsjö, and Vika.

Separately, the retailer Naturkompaniet is investing 3.8 million SEK into Fryshuset’s new project, UT!. This two-year initiative aims to facilitate over 1,700 participation opportunities across five Swedish cities to help young people connect with nature. The investment addresses concerns regarding a growing distance between younger generations and the outdoors, aiming to lower barriers to outdoor life.
