Sweden ranks 25th globally in PISA education assessment
Sweden has ranked 25th globally in the latest PISA assessment of student school performance, scoring 471.7 points. Within the Nordic region, Sweden holds the second-highest position, trailing only Finland, which scored 482.3 points.
In specific subject areas, Sweden ranked 22nd in reading, 24th in science, and 25th in mathematics. While Sweden performed well in reading and science relative to its Nordic neighbors, it fell behind Denmark and Finland in mathematics.
Globally, the top three positions were held by mainland China, Singapore, and Taiwan. The report notes a general decline in school performance across most countries, suggesting that external factors such as increased screen time may be influencing global educational outcomes.
