Sweden weather: warmer temperatures and flood warnings in Norrbotten

According to the Swedish Meteorological and Hydrological Institute (SMHI), Sweden is expected to experience more stable and warmer weather following an unstable weekend. An incoming high-pressure system is forecast to bring temperatures up to 25 degrees Celsius locally, particularly in the eastern and inner parts of Svealand, with temperatures around 20 degrees in Götaland and Svealand.

In northern Sweden, temperatures will remain cooler, ranging between 15 and 20 degrees. While mid-week promises warmth, a low-pressure system from the southwest is expected to bring rain and more unsettled conditions toward the end of the week.

In Norrbotten, recent heavy rainfall has caused flooding. SMHI has issued an orange warning for high water levels in a small area of the eastern part of the county, and a yellow warning for a larger area including Luleå, Boden, and Jokkmokk. Hydrolog Kristin Röja noted that water levels have peaked in several locations and are currently trending downward.
