Sweden wins European Cybersecurity Championship 2026

The Swedish national team won the 2026 European Cybersecurity Championship held in Bochum, Germany. Finland secured the silver medal, while Austria took third place.

The Danish cybersecurity team finished in seventh place after several days of intense competition involving 400 young IT talents from 42 countries. National coach Jens Myrup Pedersen, a professor at Aarhus University, noted that the team aimed for the most difficult tasks to maximize points, a strategy that carried the risk of lower rankings due to time constraints.

Denmark has maintained a position among Europe’s top ten countries in this championship for seven consecutive years. The tournament serves as a platform to encourage young specialists to enter the cybersecurity field.
