During the 2026 Almedalen Week in Visby, Swedish business leaders highlighted their growing involvement in societal preparedness. According to Combitech’s survey, 62 % of firms have reviewed or plan to review their contingency plans, with 57 % addressing cyber threats and 31 % preparing for wartime scenarios. Participants called for greater knowledge sharing and collaboration to strengthen the nation’s total defence.
Health sector representatives at the same event emphasized the need for concrete investments in primary care, workforce recruitment and digital data infrastructure. Speakers urged political action to fund specialist doctors, improve training, and create standardized health data systems to boost Sweden’s capacity for clinical research and patient care.
