Swedish athletes compete at European Athletics Championships
Swedish athletes competed in the European Athletics Championships in Birmingham. In the 400m hurdles final, Oskar Edlund finished fourth with a time of 48.36 seconds, missing a medal by just one-tenth of a second. Edlund had previously set a new Swedish record of 47.81. The event was won by Norway’s Karsten Warholm, who set a new championship record of 46.63, followed by silver medalist Emil Agyekum and third-place finisher Ismail Nezir.
In the decathlon, Emil Uhlin secured a 16th-place finish with a total of 7809 points. Despite facing challenging weather conditions, including high temperatures exceeding 30 degrees Celsius and difficult winds, Uhlin achieved several season bests, including a 5.00m pole vault and a 2.05m high jump. His performance included a 15.03s time in the 110m hurdles and a 6.72m long jump.
