Swedish Athletics Championships: Kim Amb claims 10th javelin gold, Fanny Roos sets record

At the Swedish national athletics championships in Uppsala on 24 July 2026, veteran javelin thrower Kim Amb secured his tenth men’s SM title with a winning throw of 75.98 m, edging out Jakob Samuelsson by just six centimetres. Amb, who returned from a serious shoulder injury that sidelined him for four years, said, "Idag hade jag marginalerna på min sida". Albert Ottander took bronze with a 70.17 m throw.

In the women’s shot‑put, Fanny Roos won her twelfth outdoor SM gold, delivering a championship‑record mark of 19.37 m, part of a series that included several throws over 19 m. Roos praised her form ahead of the European Championships in Birmingham, noting, "Formen blir bättre och bättre". Victoria Wickman earned bronze.

The championships highlighted successful comebacks and record performances in Swedish athletics.
