Sweden biathlon team begins snow training in Idre Fjäll
The Swedish national biathlon team has returned to snow training at Idre Fjäll to prepare for the upcoming season. The training camp utilizes snowfarming techniques to allow athletes to transition from roller skis to cross-country skis.
Twelve members of the Swedish A team, including Elvira Öberg, Sebastian Samuelsson, and Martin Ponsiluoma, are participating. Sebastian Samuelsson and Jesper Nelin rejoin the group following previous absences due to health issues. Notably, Hanna Oeberg and Linn Gestblom are absent from the camp due to pregnancy.
Head coach Johannes Lukas stated that the modified training program, which allowed athletes more time at home, has provided the team with significant energy heading into the final preparation phase. The camp also includes members of the NIBE development team to foster growth among younger athletes. Additionally, the Swedish federation has introduced a new competition suit that incorporates white elements alongside the traditional blue and yellow.
