Swedish broadcasters roll out new podcasts for the 2026 FIFA World Cup
Filip Hammar and Fredrik Wikingsson have launched a dedicated World Cup podcast that will run throughout the 2026 tournament. The series, debuting on 10 June, will feature 14 episodes released two to three times a week, with Hammar reporting live from the United States and Wikingsson providing commentary from France. The podcast aims to capture the human stories, atmosphere and unexpected moments surrounding the matches.
Sveriges Radio is also expanding its World Cup coverage, broadcasting games on its P4 and P3 channels and via its digital platforms. A daily morning show, the live podcast "Uppsnacket," will deliver analysis and reports from the tournament. The service will carry matches from the opening game in Mexico City to the final in New Jersey, offering listeners uninterrupted sport coverage without advertising breaks.
