Swedish fire incidents trigger emergency responses in Arvika, Karlstad, Vimmerby and Gränna

A forest fire on an island near Arvika burned roughly 300 m of vegetation and was being tackled by local fire crews.

In Karlstad, police arrested a man armed with a knife after he stole a designer lamp following a failed robbery; a woman was also charged in the lamp‑theft case.

Outside Vimmerby, a one‑storey villa was engulfed in a fully developed blaze that destroyed half the house. No occupants were present, and fire crews continued to work on the interior fire.

South of Gränna harbour, a boat caught fire. Volunteer rescuers from the Rescue Amalia Wallenberg lifted a person from the vessel and transferred them to shore, after which fire‑fighting units continued to extinguish the boat.
