Swedish court sentences 15-year-old for driving under influence

A 15-year-old girl has been sentenced to youth care by the Södertälje District Court after being convicted of driving an A-tractor while under the influence of alcohol. The incident occurred in Nykvarn on May 1, when the girl had a blood alcohol content of 0.3 per mille.

The girl admitted to the offense, stating she had consumed vodka during Valborg celebrations and decided to drive the tractor to stay warm in her camper. The court determined that her actions warranted youth care via a youth contract, which includes a six-week drug prevention program consisting of approximately ten counseling sessions. She was also ordered to pay 1,000 SEK to the Crime Victim Fund.
