Swedish courts hand down sentences for drug and domestic‑violence cases
A man from Hultsfred and a woman from Vimmerby were sentenced by Kalmar District Court to protective supervision for multiple drug offences, including possession and alleged sales of cannabis, tramadol, cocaine and amphetamine. They were acquitted of an assault that took place at Hultsfred railway station in early 2025.
In a separate case, a 38‑year‑old man was convicted by Södertälje District Court of three counts of assault against his wife and their seven‑year‑old daughter. He received a conditional prison sentence, 80 hours of community service and was ordered to pay 18,000 SEK in damages. More serious charges of aggravated violation of the woman's and child's personal integrity were dismissed due to insufficient evidence.
