Swedish Dalennätverket leaders receive reduced sentences

Three men linked to the Dalennätverket, a violent Swedish drug gang operating around Umeå, were convicted of severe drug trafficking offenses. The district court sentenced them to seven–eight years in prison. On appeal, the Court of Appeal upheld most of the verdict but re‑classified two charges as crimes of normal severity, shortening the sentences of the 26‑year‑old and the 22‑year‑old by six months each.

The court noted that the defendants had run a company‑like structure directing the gang’s drug trade, and that the network, led by Mikael “Greken” Tenezos, coordinates activities from abroad. Tenezos, arrested in Mexico in 2025 and extradited to Sweden, remains detained on numerous serious charges, including attempted murder and weapons offenses. The rulings maintain the network’s harsh reputation while marginally reducing penalties for two of its members.
