Swedish Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel visit Vaasa, Finland

Swedish Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel will be in Vaasa on 21 August 2026 to mark the 250‑year anniversary of the Vaasa Court of Appeal. The royal couple will arrive in the morning for a one‑hour court visit, after which Victoria will plant a commemorative tree in the court’s park.

At 10:30 a.m. they will walk to the park to greet the public, then travel to the nearby Vaskiluoto island to tour Wärtsilä’s technology centre and learn about carbon‑neutral shipping and energy production. The visit will conclude with a city‑provided lunch at Maaherrantalossa. The city highlights the event as a showcase of its development over four centuries and its emerging role as a northern energy hub. This is the first royal visit to Vaasa since 2006 and follows a 2023 trip to other Finnish cities.

City officials expressed pride in hosting the Swedish royals and emphasized the historical significance of the court’s founding in 1775 by King Gustav III.
