Swedish Doom Metal Band Monolord Debuts 'Iodine' Video from New Album Neverending

Gothenburg‑based stoner/doom trio Monolord has released an official music video for the track “Iodine,” taken from their sixth full‑length album Neverending, which arrived on May 29 2026 via Relapse Records. The video mixes footage of the band’s first live performance supporting the Sylvia Massy‑produced album with behind‑the‑scenes shots from a hometown show in Gothenburg. Lead vocalist and guitarist Thomas Jäger explains that “Iodine” draws inspiration from 1970s rock epics such as Lynyrd Skynyrd’s “Free Bird,” The Eagles’ “Hotel California,” and Led Zeppelin’s “No Quarter.”

The album was recorded in Ashland, Oregon, after Massy asked the trio to send every piece of material they had ever written. From the resulting sessions Monolord rehearsed twelve songs, recorded eleven and selected eight for Neverending, expanding their sound while retaining their signature weight and melody. The band’s members are Thomas Jäger (vocals/guitar), Esben Willems (drums) and Mika Häkki (bass). Monolord will continue touring the United States in late August, with dates in Chicago, Louisville, Atlanta, and several other cities.
