Swedish drug suspect detained pending trial, another convicted to six‑year term
A 20‑year‑old man from Vimmerby, accused of 47 drug‑sale attempts, was ordered to be detained by prosecutor Nina Erlandsson, who cited a risk of continued criminal activity and possible obstruction of the investigation. Digital evidence from the suspect’s devices showed conversations about the sales, and a hearing on the detention request was scheduled.
In a separate case, a man linked to the international Sky ECC network was sentenced by a Swedish court to six years in prison for large‑scale drug trafficking involving 17 kg of cannabis hash and 1 kg of cocaine, offenses committed in 2020‑21. The court also ordered the forfeiture of 900 000 SEK in alleged crime proceeds and noted the defendant’s prior convictions for weapons and drug offenses.
