The gold medal was won by Great Britain’s Georgia Hunter Bell (4:07.78), while Poland’s Klaudia Kazimierska took silver (4:08.80).

Silva’s achievement continues a family legacy; her father, Rui Silva, previously won bronze in the 1500 meters at the 2004 Olympics. Her teammate José Carlos Pinto credited Ingebrigtsen as the “brain behind all this,” noting the importance of his coaching during the athlete's career development.

Other Portuguese performances at the championships included a fifth-place finish by the mixed 4x100m relay team and a fourth-place finish by Agate de Sousa in the long jump, where she narrowly missed the podium by two centimeters.
