Swedish energy firms launch initiatives to reduce consumption
Mimer has launched the #powerhack campaign to encourage tenants to reduce electricity consumption and grid load during the winter months. The initiative provides practical advice, such as running washing machines during off-peak hours, defrosting freezers, and using lids when boiling water, to help lower energy costs and environmental impact.
Mimer has established long-term climate goals, aiming to halve greenhouse gas emissions between 2025 and 2035. The company also intends for 20 percent of the electricity used in its properties to be sourced from solar cells by 2035.
In a separate development, Gothenburg-based Vinga Energy has joined cmb. Vinga Energy provides digital energy solutions, including solar cells, battery storage, and heating systems, to help property owners reduce costs and carbon footprints. The partnership aims to foster exchange between industry and research within the urban development sector.
