Swedish hammer throwers miss European Athletics Championship finals

Swedish hammer throwers failed to reach the finals at the European Athletics Championships in Birmingham. Patricia Kamga finished 16th in the women's qualification with a best throw of 67.26 meters. Other Swedish competitors included Grete Ahlberg, who placed 18th, and Malin Garbell, who finished 21st.

In the men's competition, Ragnar Carlsson finished 29th in the qualifications. Despite the results in the hammer throw events, Wictor Petersson secured Sweden's first medal at the championships, taking bronze in the shot put final with a throw of 20.97 meters.

Vanessa Kamga, a prominent Swedish discus thrower and sister to Patricia, publicly praised Patricia on social media, noting that her sister's performance in her first major senior championship was a significant milestone.
