Swedish hockey players face suspension and injury concerns
Södertälje SK forward Andrew Vanderbeck will miss the first three matches of the Hockeyallsvenskan season due to a delayed suspension. The penalty stems from a hit on Björklöven's Axel Ottosson during the playoffs in April. Because the five-day suspension was not served before the season ended, it will now be applied to upcoming games against Leksand, Visby, and Västerås.
In separate news, HV71 goaltender Herman Liv briefly interrupted training after being struck in the throat by a puck. Team medical staff, including doctor Jonas Kalmar and chiropractor Patrick Häggström, confirmed that the 19-year-old is doing well and that the medical evaluation was a precautionary measure.
