Swedish Influencer André Helgesen Documents Month in Chinese Weight‑Loss Camp

Swedish TikTok creator André Helgesen, a former system technician, spent four weeks in the Jianfeidaren weight‑loss camp in Shenzhen, China. Prior to arriving he had already shed nearly 50 kg, cutting his weight from about 133 kg to 83 kg, and sought to lose a few more kilos. The camp’s program combined three daily training sessions, pre‑planned meals, medical monitoring and psychological support, aiming for a daily calorie deficit of roughly 1,000 kcal with an intake of about 1,300 kcal. Helgesen noted the strict schedule, with dinner served at 5 p.m. and breakfast not until 8 a.m. the next day, and said, “They gave me a schedule and diet plan, but I could cheat if I wanted.” Over the 28‑day stay he lost an additional three kilograms, bringing his total loss to 51 kg, and emphasized the shift in his self‑identity beyond just the numbers on the scale. He shared daily updates on TikTok under the handle @imhelgis and spoke to The Mirror about the experience.
