Swedish King Carl Gustaf Criticizes Podcaster at Scout Jamboree

King Carl XVI Gustaf attended the annual Scout Jamboree in Kristianstad, where thousands of scouts gather for a week‑long camp. After delivering his speech, the king publicly rebuked podcaster and YouTuber Hampus Hedström, commenting that his attempt to act as a scout was "under all criticism" and saying he had "failed". The king added that he was "forced to give him a kick". Hedström said he was not offended and was pleased to receive the king’s attention.

Earlier this year the king ended his nearly 50‑year tenure as honorary chairman of the World Scout Foundation, though he remains honorary chairman of the Swedish Scout Association, underscoring his lifelong involvement with scouting.
