Swedish municipalities report increased satisfaction in elderly care

Recent national user surveys for 2026 indicate rising satisfaction levels regarding elderly care in several Swedish municipalities.

In Trollhättan, 83 percent of residents are satisfied with municipal home care, while 80 percent are satisfied with specialized housing. Notable improvements were recorded in food quality at residential facilities, rising from 71 to 77 percent, and in residents' ability to influence the timing of their assistance. Anders Haag, head of the care administration, noted that while improvements are visible, development continues.

In Kumla, overall satisfaction with home care reached 89 percent, surpassing both regional and national averages. The survey highlighted high marks for staff interaction, with 96 percent of respondents reporting positive treatment. While satisfaction in specialized housing saw a slight one percent decrease to 84 percent, it remains above national benchmarks. Olivia Rask, operations manager for home care in Kumla, stated that future focus areas include improving communication during service changes and streamlining contact with care providers.
