Swedish police investigate child recruited for grenade attack in Borås

Swedish authorities are investigating a case involving a 12-year-old girl who was allegedly recruited to carry out a grenade attack in Borås. According to police documents, the girl traveled to Borås with two hand grenades intended to be thrown at a residential building. The grenades failed to detonate, and the girl was subsequently stopped by a police patrol, who were unaware of her involvement in the attempted attack at the time and drove her home to her parents.

Investigations into encrypted communications on the Signal app reveal that the girl was offered 80,000 SEK for the mission. Police believe Ali Namdar, a 21-year-old associated with the Foxtrot gang, ordered the attack. Prosecutors state that Namdar is believed to have instructed the minor. While a court has ruled that the conditions for his pre-trial detention are met, Namdar remains a fugitive.
