Swedish Police praise Moroccan security after Foxtrot network member arrested in Agadir

Swedish authorities have praised Moroccan security forces following the arrest of a 31-year-old Swedish national in Agadir. The individual, originally from Malmö, was wanted under an Interpol red notice and an in-absentia arrest warrant related to two suspected murder plots.

According to the Swedish Police, the suspect played a central role in the ‘Foxtrot’ criminal network, which is linked to various acts of violence and drug trafficking in Sweden. The suspect had been living outside of Sweden in recent years, including time spent in Turkey, before being apprehended in Morocco.

Stefan Hector, Deputy National Police Chief of Sweden, highlighted the strong security cooperation between Morocco and Sweden, noting that it spans political, diplomatic, and judicial levels. He specifically commended the efforts of Abdellatif Hammouchi, Director General of National Security and Territorial Surveillance, stating that Moroccan efforts have helped weaken the Foxtrot network. Anders Veberg, head of the International Unit of the Swedish National Operations Department, described the arrest as having ‘strategic importance’ for disrupting the network’s ability to conduct violent activities.
