Norrtåg to equip entire train fleet with Starlink satellite internet

Norrtåg has announced it will install Starlink satellite internet service across its entire train fleet in Sweden. This decision follows a two-year pilot project that the company reported has functioned highly effectively.

Technical Chief Linus Sadlacek Åkerlind noted that while the company was among the first globally to test the service, they initially encountered some technical teething problems. The installation process involves mounting a satellite dish to the roof and connecting it to an internal internet hub, though Norrtåg must also upgrade the broader internet infrastructure throughout its fleet to support the service.
