Swedish Politician Henrik Juhlin Targeted by Hate After Wearing Dress

Henrik Juhlin, a Centre Party politician and chair of the nature and city environment committee in Huddinge municipality, has been subjected to a wave of online hate and threats after posting a photo of himself in a dress. He reported receiving abusive comments, accusations of pedophilia and mental illness, and filed police complaints against eleven individuals. The police have opened investigations into the alleged defamation.

Juhlin warned that the hostile climate will make the upcoming 2026 municipal elections in Huddinge particularly difficult. He noted that similar hate campaigns have previously targeted other Centre Party figures, including former party leader Annie Lööf. The incident highlights growing harassment of public officials in Sweden.
