Swedish survey reveals work-life balance challenges during holidays
A Sifo survey commissioned by First Camp indicates that nearly one in five people are unable to completely disconnect from work during their vacations.
Research suggests that camping may facilitate better mental recovery. Approximately 64 percent of respondents who have gone camping in the last three years reported being able to disconnect from work within the first few days of their holiday. Specifically, 35 percent stopped thinking about work on the first day, while 29 percent did so after two to three days.
Psychology professor Petra Lindfors from Stockholm University noted that gaining distance from work-related demands is a vital component of recovery, as autonomy over one's time during leave can increase overall well-being.
