Swedish table tennis players see mixed results at European Championships

The Swedish national table tennis team experienced mixed results during the singles opening rounds of the European Championships.

In the women's category, both Stina Källberg and Filippa Bergand were eliminated. Källberg lost a closely contested seven-set match against Romania's Adina Diaconu, despite having previously secured a medal in mixed doubles earlier in the day. Bergand was defeated by Italy's Gaia Monfardini in six sets, citing fatigue due to the demanding tournament schedule.

Conversely, the Swedish men's team saw all players advance. Anton Källberg secured a victory in a difficult match against Nikita Artemenko, winning in a deciding seventh set. Truls Möregårdh advanced with a straight-sets win over Ivan Kahn, and Kristian Karlsson also moved forward after a match against Germany's Kay Stumper.
