Swedish TV launches 'Gift vid första ögonkastet XL' with couples sharing a home

Swedish public broadcaster SV TV introduced a new season of the reality series Gift vid första ögonkastet, retitled XL, which premiered on 23 August on SV TV Play and SV TV 1. The format expands the original concept by having several newly married couples live together in a large apartment complex, creating more interaction and potential conflict among the participants.

The XL edition features a fresh expert panel that includes sexologist Leigh Norén, who will comment on the couples' dynamics. Among the participants is pan‑sexual influencer Sara Songbird, who describes herself as an “avdankad influencer” now working at a preschool. She said she was drawn to the show because it offered a “meant to be” match without using dating apps. The show highlights the participants' personal backgrounds and their expectations for the shared‑home experience.

The series aims to give viewers insight into the early stages of marriage under unusual circumstances, with the added twist of multiple couples cohabiting under one roof.
