Swedish undercover police thwart planned bombings

An undercover police operation in Sweden has successfully thwarted two planned bombing attacks and uncovered a suspected bomb workshop in Södertälje. The investigation suggests the criminal activity originated from a financial dispute involving a 5.8 million SEK debt related to a construction project in Glasberga.

Through infiltration of encrypted chats used to recruit individuals for violent crimes, undercover officers identified specific targets. One planned attack involved placing a thermos bomb at the entrance of Rönninge gymnasium; the mission was aborted only after police indicated people were present in the area. A second target identified during the operation was a car dealership in Sollentuna.

Police are currently working to link a 60-year-old entrepreneur to the Södertälje criminal network and the violent apparatus suspected of being used to resolve the underlying financial conflict.
