Swedish Youth Athletics Championships Yield Multiple Medals for Habo and IKHP

The Swedish USM (senior) and JSM (junior) athletics championships were held in Sollentuna over the weekend. Athletes from the clubs Habo Friidrott and IKHP each secured four medals, bringing the total to eight podium finishes.

Habo's Rebecka Johansson, Wilma Bengtsson Damgren, Ruth Gustafsson and Hedvig Orestig earned silver medals in the F16 shot put and discus events, with Gustafsson also posting a personal best of 41.37 m in the javelin. IKHP’s Julia Walltin took silver in the F17 3000 m and bronze in the 1500 m, Ida Hellberg set a new personal best in the shot put, and Gabriel Örtengren achieved a personal best of 1.77 m in the high jump.

In the junior 800 m, Elna Wester captured her first gold in the distance, edging out Emilia Mandl and Saga Provci after a fast‑paced race. Other notable performances included Anton Drufva’s personal‑best win in the P17 1500 m and strong showings from several club athletes across the meet.
