Sweetie announces Australian tour and new single ‘Pay Rise’

Sydney-based trio Sweetie has announced an east coast Australian tour in support of their debut album, ‘Dogtooth’, which is scheduled for release on September 25 via Blossom Rot Records.

The announcement coincides with the release of ‘Pay Rise’, the third and final single preceding the album. The track explores themes of corporate ambition, consumerism, and the repetitive nature of modern working life. Drummer Rikki Clark noted the song reflects the contradictions of desiring material success while recognizing the flaws within a culture of disposability.

The accompanying self-directed music video offers a critique of the ‘millennial girlboss’ archetype, featuring the band within a miniature corporate setting. The tour will include stops in Brisbane, Port Kembla, Melbourne, and Sydney from late October through November.
