At Ring of Honor's Supercard of Honor pay‑per‑view, Bandido successfully defended the ROH World Championship against Blake Christian. Immediately after the match, former AEW World Champion Swerve Strickland stormed the ring, delivering two "House Call" attacks and slamming Bandido onto a chair.

Strickland announced his intent to pursue power in AEW, stating "my actions will be seen and my voice will be heard," and confirmed his participation in the 2026 Owen Hart Cup. The tournament winner will earn a world‑title shot at the All In London event in August. Earlier in March, Strickland had lost to Kenny Omega on AEW Dynamite, ending his recent run on the show.
