SWFI to organize 100 Chinese funds for Miami G20 Investment Week
The Sovereign Wealth Fund Institute (SWFI) and the Global FOF Association have announced plans to organize a delegation of 100 Chinese funds to participate in the G20 Investment Week in Miami, scheduled for December 11–15, 2026.
The event coincides with the G20 Leaders' Summit at Trump National Doral. The initiative aims to facilitate $250 billion in investment commitments, cooperation, and joint ventures between visiting Chinese institutions and U.S. companies, funds, and states.
Key entities being invited include the China Investment Corporation, the Hong Kong Monetary Authority, and the Monetary Authority of Macao. The delegation is expected to include leaders from state-guided funds, sovereign wealth funds, insurance companies, and major private equity and venture capital firms.
This announcement follows a state visit by Chinese President Xi Jinping to Washington, which included discussions on trade, investment, and artificial intelligence. The G20 Investment Week seeks to revitalize capital flows between the two nations, noting that Chinese direct investment currently accounts for less than 1% of foreign investment in the United States.
