Swiggy Dineout launches cinema food ordering feature

Swiggy Dineout has launched ‘Order-in-Cinemas’, a new feature allowing moviegoers to order food directly to their seats via the Swiggy Dineout app. The service is currently available at Cinepolis and Asian Cinemas multiplexes.

Users can access the service by scanning a QR code located within the cinema hall. The process involves browsing the menu, placing an order, and making a payment through the app, with food being delivered directly to the customer's seat. This system is designed to eliminate queues at concession counters and provide a more convenient experience.

To facilitate this integration, Swiggy Dineout has partnered with point-of-sale (PoS) aggregators, including Impact (operated by UFO Moviez) and Showbizz. Beyond food ordering, the app feature provides users with information on upcoming movie releases, trailers, posters, and booking links. The initiative aims to increase revenue for cinema operators by boosting the average food and beverage spend per head.
