Swiggy launches dedicated helpline for food safety concerns

Swiggy has launched a dedicated helpline and an in-app ‘Food Safety’ channel to allow customers to report concerns regarding their food orders. The initiative includes a telephone number for reporting and an app section where users can send messages and upload photographs of issues.

Upon reporting, customers receive a ticket number to track the status of their complaint. Swiggy’s Food Safety Assurance Team will review these reports on a priority basis. The company intends to use the collected data as an intelligence tool to identify patterns, engage with restaurant partners, and strengthen preventive measures across its platform.

The rollout follows increased regulatory scrutiny in India, including crackdowns by the Food and Drug Administration in states such as Maharashtra and inspections by the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) in Delhi hotels.
