Swimmer Miranda López Villa excels at Pan American University Games

Miranda López Villa, a 19-year-old swimmer and chemical engineering student at the Universidad Michoacana de San Nicolás de Hidalgo (UMSNH), achieved notable success during her first international competition at the 2026 Pan American University Games in Peru.

López Villa demonstrated versatility across multiple disciplines, including butterfly, breaststroke, and individual medley events. Her top performances included a fifth-place finish in the 400m individual medley and a sixth-place finish in the 200m butterfly. She also reached the finals in several other events, consistently placing within the top eight.

Reflecting on the experience, López Villa noted the challenges of balancing her academic responsibilities with intensive athletic training. She expressed gratitude to her university for the opportunity and is now preparing for the upcoming National University Games.
