Swimming achievements in Brazil: Nicole de Thuin and upcoming Mar Grande-Salvador race

At the 58th International Youth Swimming Championship (Troféu Chico Piscina) in São Paulo, 16-year-old Nicole de Thuin won four medals. Her achievements include two gold medals in the 4x100 medley and mixed relays, a silver in the 50m freestyle, and a bronze in the 100m freestyle.

The competition, organized by the Paulista Aquatic Federation with support from the Brazilian Confederation of Aquatic Sports (CBDA), featured approximately 350 athletes from 11 Brazilian states and Argentina, Uruguay, and Chile. The São Paulo delegation took first place, followed by Rio de Janeiro and Minas Gerais.

In separate news, the Mar Grande-Salvador crossing will proceed without seven-time champion and Olympic winner Ana Marcela Cunha, who is recovering from shoulder surgery. This absence opens the competition to younger athletes, including 15-year-old Keylane Silva and 19-year-old junior world champion Lizian Simões.
