Swimming lakes in southern Germany report temperature changes and algae warnings

Various swimming lakes in southern Germany are experiencing changes in water temperature and safety conditions. In the Augsburg district, recent testing by the local district office shows that water temperatures have cooled since early July. While many lakes, such as the Ellgauer Badesee, remain safe for swimming, blue algae have been detected again at the Zusmarshauser Rothsee. Authorities advise visitors to strictly follow warning signs at that location.

In Baden-Württemberg, popular destinations include the Schlosssee in Salem, which offers amenities like a kiosk and public transport access, and the Kirnbergsee in the Southern Black Forest, known for its natural surroundings and walking paths. The Möllenbronn quarry lake in the Ravensburg district is also noted, though it is located on private property with specific regulated swimming hours.
