Swimming Program Proven to Ease Lower Back Pain in New Study

An eight‑week swimming regimen was shown to reduce chronic lower‑back pain in a randomized trial involving 76 adults aged 26 to 74. Participants who completed three weekly 30‑45 minute swimming sessions, supported by tele‑medical physiotherapy coaching, reported significant symptom relief compared with a control group that received only brief advice.

Back pain is a widespread issue, with more than 60 % of German adults experiencing it at least once a year and about 15 % suffering chronically, according to the Robert Koch Institute. Regular movement, posture changes, and targeted physiotherapy are recommended to prevent and manage these symptoms. Practical advice includes short daily stretching, core strengthening, ergonomic lifting techniques, and consulting physiotherapists, such as those in Ingolstadt, for persistent discomfort.
